Tender asparagus bundles wrapped in crispy bacon with garlic

# What You'll Need:

→ Vegetables

01 - 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed
02 - 2 cloves garlic, minced

→ Meats

03 - 8 slices thin-cut bacon

→ Seasonings & Oils

04 - 1 tbsp olive oil
05 - 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
06 - 1/4 tsp salt

# Directions:

01 - Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
02 - Wash and trim the tough ends from the asparagus spears.
03 - In a large bowl, toss asparagus with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.
04 - Divide asparagus into 8 bundles, about 3–4 spears per bundle.
05 - Wrap each bundle with a slice of bacon, spiraling from bottom to top. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
06 - Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender.
07 - Optionally, broil for an additional 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness.
08 - Transfer to a serving platter and serve immediately.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • The bacon renders down and creates its own garlicky glaze around each bundle
  • These disappear faster than any other appetizer I've ever served
02 -
  • Pat the asparagus completely dry before wrapping or the bacon will never crisp properly
  • Thick-cut bacon needs a lower temperature and longer time to avoid chewy, undercooked pork
03 -
  • Turkey bacon works but brush with a little maple syrup to help it crisp since theres less fat rendering
  • Sprinkle grated Parmesan over the bundles during the last 3 minutes for a salty, crispy crust
